With 35+ years of hands-on experience in high-end residential construction and renovations, we bring together quality materials, skilled professionals and a deep respect for the land. Our goal is to create homes that are not only beautiful but also enduring — spaces that reflect your lifestyle, your values and the natural surroundings that make them so special.
We keep our project count deliberately low. That is how the same trusted framers, masons, timber specialists and finish carpenters return to every job, and how our clients get a builder who is on site rather than on the phone.

John Finley
Owner & General Contractor
John Finley brings a designer’s eye and a builder’s expertise to Arcadia Ridge Construction. With degrees in Design and Film, his early career as a set builder and Art Director cultivated a lasting appreciation for proportion, materials, detail, and the art of translating vision into form.
Since founding his construction company in 2001, John has dedicated his career to custom homes and renovations, developing a depth of hands-on experience across virtually every trade. This comprehensive knowledge allows him to approach each project with an understanding of both its creative vision and technical execution, seamlessly uniting design and construction.
Western North Carolina has been both his home and inspiration for more than a decade. Here, the landscape provides a natural foundation for homes defined by thoughtful design, an uncompromising standard of excellence, and a deep sense of place.
Rachael Finley
Client Liaison & Land Development
An Asheville native, farm owner, and active Realtor, Rachael Finley brings an instinctive understanding of the land, the region, and the way people want to live within it. With a discerning eye for design and a deep knowledge of Western North Carolina real estate, she guides clients through the journey from property acquisition and land development to the creation of a custom home.
As a client liaison, Rachael works closely with homeowners, Realtors, designers, and the Arcadia Ridge Construction team, to thoughtfully coordinate each phase of the process. She helps guide clients through property considerations, design selections, and construction decisions, keeping their vision and goals at the center while ensuring the experience remains organized, seamless, and personal.
Bart Martindale
Operations Manager & General Contractor
Bart began his career in construction at fifteen as a crew carpenter, building decks and developing a hands-on understanding of the building process from the ground up. That foundation has grown into a career spanning nearly every facet of residential construction.
Today, as Operations Manager at Arcadia Ridge Construction, Bart oversees estimating, project coordination, site management, plan development, and day-to-day operations. His breadth of experience allows him to thoughtfully connect architectural intent, materials, craftsmanship, and execution throughout each project.
While his professional role has evolved beyond the tools, his connection to craftsmanship remains. In his personal millwork shop, Bart continues to work with his hands—a reflection of the precision and appreciation for material that have defined his career.
Outside of work, he enjoys time with his son, exploring the woods, traveling, exceptional food, and good music.
Tyler Stephenson
Site Manager & Supply Coordinator
Tyler Stephenson brings a hands-on, highly organized approach to the day-to-day execution of each Arcadia Ridge project. As Supply Coordinator and Site Manager, he oversees material procurement, deliveries, subcontractor coordination, and the many moving pieces required to keep a project progressing smoothly.
Working closely with the construction team and trades, Tyler helps maintain an orderly, efficient job site while ensuring materials and resources are in place at the right time. His attention to detail and commitment to the process provide an important connection between planning and execution — helping carry Arcadia Ridge's standards of quality and precision through every stage of construction.
